Message from the Club Secretary (13th October 2010)
The AGM of Chesterfield Swimming Club will take place at Queen’s Park at 6.00pm on Sunday 28th November.
The following nominations for Executive positions for 2010-2011 were received by the deadline of 10th October. All nominations have been accepted by the nominees.

The following nominations for other Committee positions for 2010-2011 were received by the deadline of 10th October. All nominations have been accepted by the nominees.

As there has been only one nomination for each available elected position, all the above nominees will be elected to serve automatically on the 2010-2011 Committee from 28th November.
Message from the Club Secretary
The AGM of Chesterfield Swimming Club will take place at Queen’s Park at 6.00pm on Sunday 28th November.
In connection with the AGM, the club constitution says:
“CSC9.3: Nominations for election of members to any office or for membership of the Committee shall be made in writing by the proposer and seconded to the Secretary not later than 10th October. The nominee shall be required to indicate in writing on the nomination form his willingness to stand for election. Notice of any resolution proposed to be moved at the Annual General Meeting shall be given in writing to the Secretary not later than 10th October.”
To facilitate making and accepting nominations for these positions, nomination forms will be available on the club noticeboard at Queen’s Park between now and 8.30pm on Sunday 10th October. Nominations will also be accepted by post, hand delivery or email by midnight on 10th October. If a nomination is proposed by email, it must be confirmed by the nominee and the seconder.
Notice of any Resolutions proposed to be moved at the AGM must be made by post, hand delivery or email by midnight on 10th October.
There are four officers of the club who will be elected to fulfil the following specific roles:
Chairman
Secretary
Treasurer
Galas and Fixtures Secretary
Over and above these Executive Officers of the Club, there are seven further positions available on the Committee. If there are seven or fewer nominations, all will serve on the Committee; if there are more than seven nominations then there will be a ballot of eligible voting members at the AGM to decide who will serve. Members so elected would normally take on one or more of a number of roles in the running of the club. The constitution requires someone to be the Club Welfare Officer. Other tasks usually carried out by Committee members include Membership Officer, Swim21 Co-ordinator, Fund-Raising Co-ordinator, Social Secretary, Schools Liaison Officer, Workforce Development Officer, Publicity Officer. However, the distribution of roles to elected members will be decided by the new Committee as it determines.
To be eligible to stand for the Committee, members must be at least 18 years old. For further information about the Committee and the AGM, please see the Constitution available on the club website.
