The area around the pool where the swimmers will be is likely to be quite cold. It is an area of mainly glass construction. Please bring poolside chairs, sufficient towels and warm layers. We don’t want chilly swimmers!!

Confirmed warm up times for the afternoon sessions are as follows.

Session 2, Sat 8th Jan 1.30pm

Session 4, Sun 9th Jan 1.00pm

Sessions 1 & 3 will be 8.30am warm-up as per programme.

For information, although there is plenty of parking available at the venue it is not free. Saturday charges are 50p for up to 2hrs, £2.50 for up to 4hrs and £5 for 4hrs or more (traffic wardens do visit them frequently). There is no change given so please bring plenty of coins. On Sunday the charge is 50p all day (charges apply from 8.00am to 6.00pm). There is some street parking around the venue but it is time limited.

Club Shop - Returning for the 3rd year is the successful Chesterfield Gala Shop. This has proved very popular with our visitors as it is well stocked with swimmers in mind. Training gear, latest costumes and range of fastskins are all available. Payment by cash or cheque, sorry we cannot accept credit cards.

Queen’s Park Sports Centre has a cafe on the first floor which will be open throughout the meet serving hot and cold food and drinks including pasta, baked potatoes and sports drinks. Vending machines are also available on site.

DE Photo will be taking photographs throughout the meet and their stall will be on the first floor between the club shop and cafe

Thank you to all who have notified us that a swimmer is withdrawing from the event, your refunds will be processed as soon as possible. We are now processing the additional entry requests. All requests will be acknowledged and where the entries have been accepted details of how to pay will be included in the email. The closing date for additional entries (and late withdrawal notices) is 12 noon 24December 2010. We will issue a new accepted entry/reject list by 27December 2010 and all changes must be notified to us by noon 31December 2010. Apologies for the short time period but we need to get the programme to the printers by Tuesday 4January 2011. Please note that no refunds will be given for withdrawals made after noon 31December 2010.

We are currently working our way through the withdrawal requests. Please note that any requests for additional entries will not be processed until after 19 December.

9 Dec 2010

Can anyone withdrawing from the gala please notify us by 19th December 2010 clearly stating their name, date of birth and swimming club. We will assume a swimmer will be withdrawing from all entered events unless otherwise advised. Please email details to openmeet@chesterfieldsc.co.uk and copy to galas@chesterfieldsc.co.uk, we will acknowledge all withdrawals and process refunds as soon as possible.

We guarantee that all accepted entries received for the original meet will be accepted into this meet even if the swimmer is now in a higher age group. Please note that age at day is now 9 January 2011.

There is a possibility that we will be able to accept new entries dependant on the number of withdrawals, if you would like to enter please email the swimmers details including club, date of birth, ASA number, event(s) to enter and entry times. These must be received no later than 24th Dec and must be sent by email to openmeet@chesterfieldsc.co.uk and copy to galas@chesterfieldsc.co.uk, please do not send any money until we confirm your entry. Please note additional entries will be on a strictly first come, first served basis.
