Mark joined Chesterfield Swimming Club in October 2011 fresh from Loughborough University where he graduated with a degree in Applied Sports Science. While there Mark worked on a daily basis with the University performance swim squads (where he also swam competitively in his early years) and British Swimming ITC squads.
Since joining us Mark has been selected for numerous England Programmes training camps as an assistant skills coach, event specific coach and as a regular head coach. He has also been selected for Swim England's Coach 2024 development programme which aims to develop the top coaches in the country in to 'world class' coaches, selection for which is extremely competitive and is an honour our Head Coach is very proud of.
Mark has helped transform the club creating the opportunities and environment that now breeds regular regional and national level success.
Max achieved great things as a swimmer with Mark. He qualified for National Championships for the first time in 2015 at the age of 16 and in the same year won a National Bronze medal.
Max favoured distance Freestyle events as a swimmer and always showed a tremendous work ethic, nothing was ever too much to ask and he always tackled tough training head on with a BIG smile on his face.
Max has made an instant positive impact on swimmers by applying the same energy and determination to his coaching as he did his swimming. He has a very bright future ahead of him.
Ian has enjoyed success not only as a swimming coach but as a high level water polo coach, taking University of Sheffield water polo team to a national level and working with England Water Polo.
Ian joined us late in 2018 and straight away made a huge impact to opposite ends of the spectrum with both Masters swimmers and Academy Squad swimmers. Under his guidance both squads have seen numbers sky-rocket as every swimmers enjoys the challenges he sets out and leaves sessions with a smile on their face.
We are lucky to have Ian and look forward to him building a force to be reckoned with in Masters and Academy swimming.

Our Junior Coaches are still very much focused on their own swimming but show a keen interested in coaching and can occasionally be found on poolside helping pass on their experience and lead the way for the next generation to follow in their footsteps. They are a tremendous asset to the club and always happy to help if you ever need any advice.
